Legal and privacy
What data LanzaMet uses, where it comes from and the terms on which you can use it.
Privacy
- LanzaMet has no accounts or sign-up, uses no cookies and carries no advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
- We don't use your location. The weather is requested for the whole island at once, so not even the place you're looking at leaves your device.
- Your device, and only your device, keeps the language, the appearance, the chosen place and your favourites, the latest copy of the weather data and whether you have installed the site, with a count of visits so as not to insist. None of it is ever sent anywhere.
- The site also keeps a copy of itself so it opens quickly and works offline.
- You can erase all of it whenever you like by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
- The data comes from our server, hosted on Cloudflare; if it doesn't answer, your browser asks Open-Meteo directly. As with any website, these services see technical connection data, such as the IP address and the browser, which they need to work and to protect themselves from abuse.
- When you share the weather, the image is created on your device and you send it yourself, with the app you choose.
If you write to us from Help us
- We send the kind of feedback, your message and the site's language, and your email only if you type it. Never your location, your places or device data.
- Messages are received by Web3Forms, an external service that forwards them to us by email. It may keep a copy for a while, under its own terms.
- Like any online service, the receiving one sees connection data, such as your IP address and browser, and may use it, for instance, to stop spam.
- We use messages only to fix bugs and improve the site, and your email only to reply. We don't use it for advertising or share it with anyone.
- Don't put personal details you don't need to in your message.
- On this device we only keep when you sent your last messages and a fingerprint of the last one (not its text), to prevent repeated submissions.
- If you left your email and want your message deleted, ask us in a new message from that same email.
Terms of use
- LanzaMet is free and is there to tell you about the weather and the sea in Lanzarote. You need no account to use it.
- The information is provided as is, with no guarantee that it is accurate, complete or always available. Forecasts and the tide are model estimates and can be wrong.
- Don't use it as the only basis for safety decisions, for navigation or for risky activities. We accept no liability for any damage arising from its use.
- The data belongs to its sources and is used under their licences, credited on this page. Links to other websites lead to sites we do not control.
- We may change the site or these terms, or stop offering it, at any time. The terms that apply are always the ones on this page.
- These texts are in Spanish and in English. Should the two ever differ, the Spanish version prevails.
